Bench is a beta tool for synthetic chemists — everyday calculations, NMR and mass-spec companions, and a private space to share papers and verify each other's work. Using Bench means agreeing to the following.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for whatever's posted under your account. Use a real name and a real email — Publications' whole point is knowing who reported what, so an impersonal or fake account undermines it for everyone in your group.

Your content

What you post is yours. Sharing it into Publications makes it visible to your group, not the public internet. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share.

This is a beta product

Bench is actively being built. Features change, and we don't guarantee uptime or that everything works perfectly all the time. The calculators are built and checked carefully, but they're an aid to your own work, not a substitute for your own judgment as a chemist — check results that matter before you rely on them.

Acceptable use

Don't use Bench to harm or harass anyone, upload content you don't have rights to, or try to break or abuse the service.

Ending your account

You can stop using Bench any time. To close your account entirely, get in touch with the Bench team — see the Privacy Policy for why that's a manual step for now rather than a button. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks the acceptable-use rule above.

Changes to these terms

As Bench changes, these terms might too. We'll update this page and its date at the top when that happens.
